Welcome to my Friday post ... and a Christmas card

Morning all,

Pretty sure this must be about the last Christmas card I have to share with you ... for 2017 anyway! Of course, I COULD be wrong, since I don't seem to be able to stop myself making them! This was made for a chicken loving pal - I HOPE she liked it!

My card
And a closer view of the image panel
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White 12.7cm square, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • One piece of white card cut to 11.5cm square
  • Snippet of DCWV (winter stack) patterned paper cut to 11.5cm square
  • One piece of navy card, cut to 12cm square
  • Snippets of card in white and navy
  • String
  • Snowflake charm
  • Paper Artsy chicken image (ZA17) stamped using Memento tuxedo black on to larger white snippet and coloured using Faber Castell polychromos pencils - blended using Sansodor and a paper stump
  • Red Sharpie fineliner used to add stripes to chookie sweater
  • Paper Artsy sentiment stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Stardust stickles to bling up the image

I'll be entering the above for the following challenges:-
  1. Pixie's Crafty Workshop - challenge No. 311/312 - ANYTHING GOES but MUST use SNIPPETS
  2. 4 Crafty Chicks - challenge No. 381 - CHRISTMAS AND/OR WINTER CRITTERS
  3. C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - challenge No. 446 - CHRISTMAS
  4. Moving Along With The Times - challenge No. 60 - TWAS THE CHALLENGE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
  5. Little Red Wagon - challenge No. 423 - CHRISTMAS CRITTERS

And I've a Christmas tag to share too ...

The front of my tag, I do LOVE this vintage Santa image
The reverse of my tag
 Materials used:
  • Kraft tag
  • Stampendous Santa image stamped using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Recollections "to" and "from" and the "merry merry" and "baubles" all stamped on the reverse using Versafine onyx black ink
  • Derwent coloursoft pencils used to add colour
  • Stardust stickles to bling up the tag and Mod Podge dimensional gloss for the lenses of Santa's specs!

And the gift? Well, I used a crop-a-dile to punch a hole and set an eyelet to thread my red/gold ribbon through, threaded my tag on to it and then finished in to a bow - Ta Dah!

Hope you've all had a great week and are almost ready for Christmas. We've had some meals with friends and present exchanges. In fact we had a lovely evening and meal on Wednesday but, sadly, returned home to find ... NO HEATING! Boiler was completely dead - a gift that no-one wants in the grip of the recent cold snap. It was off to bed with a hot water bottle and set the alarm for as soon as the maintenance company open ... in our case 07:00. They can't come till today, so I'm waiting in and hoping they will be able to fix it today too ... otherwise I guess we'll be without heat all weekend!

This is a really fun chicken image Kathy and your Santa tag looks great too, and makes a lovely present even more special. Glad you had a good evening with friends but not so good to come home to a cold house and a busted boiler. Hope they are able to fix it quickly. x
